Once Koreans had a drem
Of rainbowed calm
In morning sun
One nation undisturbed bed
One family undivided
Long ago thst wise came true
When namads left the steppes
Crossed icy tundra. hostile sand,
Found friendly peaks beuons the Yalu:
Settled down beside the Tumen
Han, the Kum and Naktong rivers
There the Tangun was born-
a man – god king- on ᅟᅨᆷټ- San A hundred years his happy people
fished bright asters
farmed green valleys
gathered food from sea and mountain.
sang the songs and told their drums.
Then Tangun ddied on koowol –san
Bluss skies turned gray
While clans and factions fought for power,
foreign hordes played deadly gumes
within old Chosuns borders
Alfter centuries of struggle
each invad taking turns at contest,
Nippon warriors won the contest,
Claimed the battleground as prize.
Global war brought libernation
a broken rainbow
followed by the great divioion
Brothers blood was shed brothers;
both sides gained, and lost,
and so did others.
Now a brittle truce and endless quarrel
each twin flexing twitching muscles.
Once
upon a
mountain top
Koreans had a dream
a glowing hope they kept
from Kumkang-san to Panmunjom
through centries of tears and pain
where has peaceful oneness gone
why isnt Tangun putting up
